If you know Ven Smith, you know what an amazing man he is. Funny, loyal, hard-working, kind, and generous, you couldn't hope to have a better person in your corner. He's open, friendly, and fearless, all of which serve him well in his tireless work to create new relationships that cross the many genres of the KC music community.

On November 12, 2014, Ven's mother, Anita J. Smith was involved in a very serious car accident. It left her incapacitated for the next several months as she heals and then goes through extensive physical therapy. She has no insurance to speak of and the hospital bills are astounding.

Anita is a mother of seven and has spent the last 35 years as the sole caretaker of her husband (who is physically and mentally disabled) and family. As she will be incapacitated for several months, she will be unable to work, to take care of her family, or to continue her passionate volunteer service at a local pregnancy center.

Ven will drop what he's doing to help anyone, friend or stranger, but he rarely asks for help, priding himself on his determination and resourcefulness. However, there comes a time in everyone's life when you just can't go it alone and this is Ven's time. He's asked us for help. And so we're going to help him in the way that we know best - music.

Ven has a lot of friends and people who respect him in the music community. We reached out to some of them and asked them to donate a song to the cause. These musicians have generously donated their music. They have asked for nothing in return.

Money Wolf Music will transfer ever penny from this fundraiser to Ven's family to help with their mother's medical and household costs.
